Preparing for a Reiki session involves creating an environment that enhances relaxation and energy flow. Remember that these guidelines are general recommendations, and it's important to communicate with your practitioner about any specific instructions or concerns they may have. Creating a conducive environment and mindset before your Reiki session can contribute to a more meaningful and effective experience

  • Hydrate Well: Drink plenty of water in the 12 hours leading up to your Reiki session. Hydration supports the flow of energy in the body and contributes to the effectiveness of the session.


  • Avoid Stimulants: Minimize or avoid the intake of stimulants such as caffeine at least 12 hours before your session. Stimulants can interfere with the relaxation process, and Reiki tends to be more effective when the body is in a calm state.


  • Nutritional Considerations: Opt for light, easily digestible meals in the hours preceding your session. Avoid heavy, fatty, and heavily processed foods, as these can affect your overall energy and comfort during the session.


  • Limit Alcohol Consumption: Refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages at least 12 hours before your Reiki session. Alcohol can dull your senses and may interfere with the energy flow experienced during the session.

Preparing for your reiki session

Before We Begin

  • Wear Comfortable Clothing: Choose loose, comfortable clothing for your Reiki session. This allows the practitioner easy access to various areas of the body, promoting a more effective and comfortable experience.


  • Remove Jewelry and Accessories: Take off any jewelry, watches, or accessories that might interfere with the Reiki practitioner's ability to work on specific areas of your body.


  • Set an Intention: Before the session, take a few moments to set a positive intention for what you hope to gain from the Reiki experience. This could be related to physical healing, emotional balance, or spiritual insights.


  • Communicate Preferences: If you have specific preferences or concerns, communicate them to your Reiki practitioner before the session. This might include discussing any particular areas of the body you'd like the practitioner to focus on or sharing information about past experiences with energy work.


  • Silence or Turn Off Devices: To create a tranquil environment, silence or turn off your phone and any electronic devices before the session begins. This minimizes distractions and allows you to fully immerse yourself in the Reiki experience.
